DIALOGUE, works by
Nan Hoover, the Netherlands Media Art Institute, Montevideo/Time Based Arts demonstrates the diversity of Nan Hoover's oeuvre. Nan Hoover (US, 1931) has always been searching for the best form for expressing her ideas. Therefore she is willing to change media, and has not shied away from endless technical experimentation. Nearly fifty years of art practice has not diminished her ambition; on the contrary, right down to this day she refuses to let anything stand in the way of her continuing to work on her large and varied oeuvre.

In dialogue with Nan HooverDuring the >50% Beeld evening (more than 50% image) Nan Hoover will be talking about her own development as an artist. Starting from the early 70s when she arrived in Holland she will touch on the proceedings in video art in Holland in particular and in Europe in general and how these effected her own work. She will show a selection of video works, performances and slides.
Tijdens de >50% beeld avond verteld Nan Hoover over haar ontwikkeling als een kunstenaar. Vanaf de begin jaren 70 toen ze in Nederland arriveerde zal ze vertellen over de ontwikkelingen van videokunst in Nederland in het bijzonder en Europa in het algemeen en hoe deze ontwikkelingen invloed hebben gehad op haar eigen werk. Ze toont een selectie van haar videowerk, performances en dia’s.
